My 13 year old Rotti X is on vet prescribed Carprofen and I also give her hemp oil with turmeric. I spoke to the vet before starting her on the oil with turmeric and he was all for it. I have definitely noticed some improvement. Good luck with your old friend

We give our Boof, hemp oil by weight every day. I have noticed an improvement in his gait. He is moving about the place a bit easier since he has been on it. We will keep him on it indefinitely it really works.

Whilst out walking the dog tonight we bumped into a wee old man who was talking about the lab he had….. he was saying that his dog had arthritis and that he used to put drops of apple cider vinegar on his dogs food….. he kept with it and 6 weeks later his dog was walking with lots more movement…… maybe worth a try

You have to take care of all nutritional needs. I use Nulo kibble and cook up a weekly batch of ground turkey, carrots, celery, spinach, brown rice and add pumpkin puree to add. Berries have anti inflammatory properties so blueberry would be a good add also

Raw if you can do it, or Acana grass lands. Just make sure you ad glucosamine and krill oil or grizzly oil (you can get this at any woofies store) as well as Chondrite. For joint health. You may have to augment with Gabapentin or Meloxicam or Metacam daily depending on the severity. I had my boy on all of it by the time he was 11.

NomNom. A great brand you and their vet come up with the best recipe for the pupper…I have a lab, with arthritis and a sensitive stomach …not a good combination when medicating… NomNom came up with a recipe that has actually worked -and with her digestion! NomNom has products that will aid your puppy’s switch to fresh food…from kibble. I don’t like giving her otc supplements (they cause havoc in her stomach) Feeding her food that has supplements already there seems to be the way to go for her, she’s been on it for about 14 months! It is Not cheap! But in the long run…what else can I do to make her happy

Managing arthritis in rottweilers requires a holistic approach that emphasizes a well-balanced, anti-inflammatory diet. Integrating ingredients rich in fish oil for dogs, antioxidants, and natural supplements like glucosamine for dogs and chondroitin can significantly improve joint health and mobility. Consult with a veterinarian to personalize your rottweiler’s dietary plan, accounting for breed, size, and specific health requirements. By incorporating these food recommendations and maintaining a healthy weight, you will not only alleviate your dog’s arthritis symptoms but also boost their overall well-being, ensuring a happier, more comfortable life for your rottweiler.
