Dog Mom Details Her Dog’s Eventful Last Day Alive In Achingly Emotional Video
An unfortunate aspect of being a pet parent is that, more than likely, you will outlive them. The day we have to say goodbye is a day we all dread. But why not make it the best day possible, for both you and your pup, by doing all of your favorite things together one last time?
That’s exactly what Baxter’s mom did, and her video documenting their last day together has gone viral.

If you’ve ever had a dog that’s become your everything, it will be hard to make it through the video or maybe even this post without shedding a tear. Our dogs are our faithful companions through our best and worst days, so even imagining a time when we will have to live without them can be emotional.

The video begins with Ellie, Baxter’s mom, and the rest of her pack of pups smothering Baxter in lots of love. It’s obvious from the scene that his last day was full of so many snuggles and kisses. In the next clip, Ellie holds a brown McDonald’s bag as she feeds Baxter a sandwich. Across the screen are the words, “Last McDonald’s breakfast.”
Then, the pair strolls to a nearby shop to get some meat. Baxter happily wags his tail as his mom shares some slices with him, and they eat their ham together. After their snack, they lay down for more cuddles as the adorable Sher Pei licks his chops.

It’s so sweet to watch a furry sibling join Baxter for one more afternoon nap together. Then, Baxter tastes a formerly forbidden treat for the first time, as “Trying naughty choccy for the first time” flashes across the video. He’s hesitant at first, but then he takes the treat. He washes it down with a spot of tea straight out of a mug.

After that, they take their final car ride together. Two pairs of hands pet Baxter as they travel, and he looks lovingly between them. In the last clip of the video, a beautiful sunset stretches across the sky. It’s even accompanied by a gorgeous rainbow. The words “Off over the rainbow bridge” are typed across the screen.

No matter how long they live, it will never feel like enough. Twelve years with Baxter went by in a blink. Our pups become our best friends, and even when they’re gone, we never stop loving them.
What a wonderful last day Ellie gave her sweet boy Baxter. We know that he will always be remembered and is already immensely missed.
